For those not familiar with the history of the Melbourne Cup, it’s said to be the only NEW Battery fit Dell Inspiron 5150 5160 1100 1150 5100 horse race in the world during which the whole nation (Australia) comes to a stop to listen to on radio or watch on TV.

Those present at Flemington Racecourse today will be handed a postcard toshiba pa2458ur battery as they leave as a memento of this history-making day.

Here’s one site with a history of the Melbourne Cup.

There’s going to be lots written and said about today’s race - after all, it’s history uniwill un755 battery in the making in sport.

introducing more combinators

Agosto 26th, 2008 by blogemylive

What’s left to do? On the one hand, we’ve reached a nice plateau at this point; the library is sufficiently fleshed out to be useful for expressing parsers for a number of languages. On the other hand, there is still toshiba satellite-a10 battery plenty that can be done, including

* introducing more combinators in the library (Parsec, for example, has tons more useful stuff)
* improving the perf (I would really enjoy profiling this to get New Dell Precision m65 D820 Battery HICAPACITY 312-039 a better feel for how lambda and enumerables behave at runtime; I would also like to find and fix the leaks)
* adding laziness, so that it’s possible to get online behavior, where Packard Bell Easynote F5280 Laptop Battery MYBAT9528 (CBI1010A) initial results can be produced while the rest of the input is still streaming in
* adding laziness to the internals, so that for example, rather than eagerly acer tm3200 battery computing error information as we go along, we wait until there is an error (if there is one) to compute the corresponding asus s5000 battery diagnostics (I am not sure if this is pragmatic, but it sounds kinda fun)
* a ton of ideas I haven’t thought of yet, I’m sure

But after five major blogging (and coding!) installments, I think I’m probably ready for a short break. :)

Alive and doing fine

Hey people!! Well today I decided to get up and out of here. Gonna go IBM 02K6728 battery get my chicklets n take them on a lil tour of the country. I thought “who the f**k gives a shit bout me and bad, sad moods?” No one! So I’m having a grand day today, can’t wait to go out and spread the good cheer. Got my fav outfit on, fixed my (too long) hair, and I convinced my fav chickie to dress up n look her best. It might be the Friday syndrome or it could be that I realized I’m in love and the guy actually cares Toshiba PA3537U-1BAS battery a lot too. He’s just scared to show it, or I might be dreaming. Oh well! Dream on gurl! a quote from Shannon Hoon “when you stop dreaming its time to die”. Heartbreak is a part of being in love. And I think thats as far as I’ll go today on preaching bout love.
I miss all of my friends, the ones I hardly see, and the crazy fuckers that I haven’t seen in years. So I’m hoping that I see that 1 guy Apple M7385G battery thats just crazy.
I watched Napoleon Dynamite last night by my lonesome, enjoyed it, heck yeah I did! Such a great movie.
Well it’s Friday, I’m hoping the night is better. My kiya is sore, and I don’t know why.
Cheers my brown beige sastas!

So far so good

Agosto 4th, 2008 by blogemylive

Well I’m proud of myself so far this week, and disappointed in other ways. I did the family new years run on Sunday. Then it was spin class and the gym on Monday. I was planning to run Tuesday morning before my 10 hour work shift, but I slept in and it snowed (double whammy!). However I did run 30 min on the treadmill at the gym toshiba pa2510 pa2510ur pa3010u-1bar battery after a LONG BUSY day of work, so I was proud. Wednesday am was Lori’s rockin spin class - it was a good one. Swimming started back up on Wednesday night and I started with a bang….500m butterfly set….what the ^$#^ was Nick (coach) thinking!! I wanted to get up early today and do a 10k run before my 10 hour shift at 9 am….usually this doesn’t happen as I don’t get up at 6 am easily….but I bounded out of bed before 6 and was on the road at 6:03 am (thanks to Garmin!!). I was proud for getting up and going, but my run was horrible. I was soooooo toshiba pa2510 pa2510ur pa3010u-1bar battery slow (I think my mom almost ran a faster 10km this year!!) and I felt like I was trying so hard. I guess that’s what I get for so much time off. However I was happy I went and went early so I could relax after my 10 hour day. I rewarded myself for workouts and for surviving another week of work by going toshiba pa2510 pa2510ur pa3010u-1bar battery to the mall and buying some work pants, and coming home and eating chocolate (thanks for the good German stuff Suk!). I have a few more workouts planned for the week…easy run, gym and masters swimming on Fri, and a spin on Saturday as well as skating with Suki - it’s her birthday on the 6th!

OIM Race Report part III

Agosto 3rd, 2008 by blogemylive

Of course I was covered in salt so I had to have a shower toshiba PA3166U battery – nothing like that to tell you where the chaffing is!! My lower back was pretty bad (although I didn’t feel it during the run) as well as a few other select places. My family and I all snuggled up with ice packs and massaging devices (the photos are pretty funny) before we managed to get dinner ready. Over the course of the night, I was walking better than anyone else. I knew that wouldn’t last long. I had toshiba PA3166U battery a feeling the girl on the course was right. We were talking and I said I was worried about the pain later in the race…she said not to worry as the pain would come the next day. Dinner was great, we hit the hay early and then…the sore body the next morning. Back, legs, IT bands argh. I actually don’t hurt as much as I expected to which is nice. I think it’s nothing that an easy week won’t clear up.

So what’s up next?? Relax a bit I think. Master swimming toshiba PA3166U battery starts this week on Wednesday, which I think I can attend and take it easy. I wouldn’t mind to get to the gym, but I think I’ll just do upper body. I could use an easy ride or two, we’ll see. I have an easy work week only 3 x 10 hour days because I took Sunday off for the race (thanks Shirley for working for me on Thanksgiving weekend). Then soon it’s off to Puerto Vallarta for a relaxing week on the beach. Ahhhhhh.

Once again thanks everyone for cheering me on, and toshiba PA3166U battery all the pointers. It was great to have all of your support!

it was pretty good

Agosto 3rd, 2008 by blogemylive

As for my race, it was pretty good. I started a little worried, feeling like I hadn’t trained enough, and thinking the taper was too long. I saw heard Lori yell at me around the second corner, it’s always nice to know that someone sees you. The first 10k felt easy (except for my upset stomach), but I kept reminding myself that this was a long race, and it was going to get tough. I tried to take in lots of fluids, but it was hard as I usually have a set Gatorade routine, but had to dell Inspiron 9200 battery alter it for this as I didn’t hide bottles along the route. It was neat to run through city park and see people, and then run past all the half marathoners on their way back. I knew that Clark was probably done as they announced the sub 1:50 people as I went by the finish line – I did hear them announce Steve Pope as sub 1:50 – very impressive!! Then I ran into Krista under the tunnel – still can’t believe she recognized me in the dark. Jennifer Leach-Trask looked good, Suki was just after that. I saw Alisa cheering, then came mom and dad after that. After I went by the turnaround point I knew that I wouldn’t see many other people out there. At the 20 km mark I was still feeling pretty good. I was happy that my legs hadn’t started to hurt with every step yet. Swamp Road Hill looked daunting when I saw it, but it wasn’t that bad. I just kept chugging along (not at any great speed) at my 15 and 1 type pace. It really started to thin out people wise going along Benvoulin. Alisa went dell Inspiron 9200 battery by hanging out of the side of a car. I passed a few people (who would have thought) before making the turn onto Byrne ave. A little more and I made it to the 30 km mark. I fell off my pace a bit, but I didn’t worry about it too much. Just went with whatever was comfortable – I didn’t really have dell Inspiron 9200 battery a goal time, mostly just to finish, and be able to run the whole way (i.e. no more than 1 min walking). At about the 30 km mark my IT bands started to ache a bit. It wasn’t anything really bad, but I could feel it. Then at the 32 km mark the cramping started. The first twinge was in my calf muscle, and I let out a yelp and stopped to stretch a for a moment. Then I pushed onward. At each water station after that I tried to take in a little more. Both water and Gatorade if I could. I kept at it and was happy to see the 35 km mark, and the turn back to lakeshore ave. I overheard a lady earlier in the race say that once you get to the 35 km mark you can just glide in. Sounded good to me! Down lakeshore the cramping continued. I started to get it in my hip flexors as well. I did whatever I could to just keep going and stick to my 15 and quick breaks. Lori and Mark found me on dell Inspiron 9200 battery their bikes down by Manteo resort I think. They updated me on the rest of the people we knew and kept me company for a bit. I still felt good save for the cramping – I never did get that pain in the quads with every step feeling. Step by step I was getting closer. I saw Jim Farr by gyro beach and the turnaround, chatted with him for a bit. Then I was back…the turnaround – only 4 km to go! I think that was exciting for me to know I was that close. Still chugging along at my lazy pace, I saw Gillian Kornell ride by – I talked with her briefly – didn’t know that she’d run the 10k race, not only that but she won the women’s event!! Then I was getting closer to the end, and still feeling pretty good. It was nice to get dell Inspiron 9200 battery through the tunnel and into city park where there were more people. I saw my parents, and Clark and Suki and managed to get to the finish. I think the first thing I said was – do I get a medal? I found my family – saw Lori, ran into Garnet, my boss who did the half also. Chatted with a few other people, then grabbed some much needed food. I still felt ok. We left shortly after as I was cold – although we did manage to get a photo of me by the sails with my medal. It was home for turkey dinner after that.

Chronic inflammation affects the photic response of the suprachiasmatic nucleus

Agosto 2nd, 2008 by blogemylive

Discussion
The results show that Fos induction elicited in the mouse SCN by photic hp HSTNN-DB35 laptop battery stimulation is decreased 7 days after chronic inflammation caused by systemic LPS administration. The absence of overt cytological abnormalities in the SCN indicated that this effect was due to functional impairment rather than to structural neuronal damage, as also demonstrated by the finding that light-induced Fos expression in the SCN returned to normal at 4 weeks after the end of LPS treatment. Altogether these data provide in vivo evidence of a marked functional alteration of the circadian pacemaker in response to a chronic immune challenge, and show that this effect was reversible.

Systemic LPS administration causes an increase of hp HSTNN-DB35 laptop battery proinflammatory cytokines in the brain, including interleukin (IL)-1, IL-6, IL-8 and TNF- ([Herber et al., 2006] and [Qin et al., 2007]). Cytokine receptors and regulatory molecules are expressed in the SCN ([Lundkvist et al., 1999] and [Sadki et al., 2007]). Previous data have shown a functional activation of the biological clock, and in particular its dorsal part, in response to acute LPS i.p. administration during the early subjective night (Marpegàn et al., 2005). As expected on the basis of a wealth of previous data (Morin and Allen, 2006), photic stimulation resulted here in Fos induction mainly in the SCN core. Taken together these findings indicate that inflammatory stimuli affect different subregions of the biological clock. In particular, proinflammatory mediators administered intracerebroventricularly activate different SCN subregions in a circadian time-dependent manner (Sadki et al., 2007). Interestingly, this response is altered by aging, which brings about a low grade chronic inflammatory condition as well as alterations in endogenous biological rhythms, and especially the sleep/wake cycle (Sadki et al., 2007; see also Bentivoglio et al., 2006). It is interesting to note hp HSTNN-DB35 laptop battery in this respect that LPS treatment in rats alters sleep pattern and disrupts sleep continuity (Lancel et al., 1995). LPS administration can result in long-term effects, including irreversible damage of some neuronal subsets, such as dopaminergic neurons which may undergo degeneration after several months (Qin et al., 2007). The present data do not rule out long-term consequences of an immune challenge on the biological clock, but they recall attention on the transient sensitivity of the circadian pacemaker to chronic inflammation, demonstrating that this can functionally impair the nucleus.

OLPC gaining momentum in India?!

Agosto 1st, 2008 by blogemylive

To describe India’s relationship with OLPC as “rocky” would almost be an understatement. Back in 2006 for example the Indian Ministry of Education was very critical of the project and called it “pedagogically suspect”. Later that year some Indian organizations came together and announced their work on a “$10 laptop”.
XO in India
XOs also popular in India

Then suddenly in autumn of 2007 the first information about hp nc4000 nc4010 320912-001 dd880a battery a small pilot-site in Khairat became available which was soon followed by quite an extensive report from the school which appeared on the OLPC wiki.

Now in July there’s been a number of new developments which all indicate that OLPC is gaining some significant momentum in India. First in mid-July it was announced that XOs bundled with CDMA modems are expected to hit retail stores later in the year. Additionally OLPC India’s page on wiki.laptop.org now mentions an additional 5 deployments going on at the moment.

The biggest sign of things to come was included in the latest dell Latitude D600 Series laptop battery community-news dell Latitude-D600-Series battery update which includes an invitation to the OLPC India Day which will take place in Mumbai on August 4.

Mr. Nicholas Negroponte founder and chairman of the One Laptop Per Child non-profit assosociation will be in India to share with us his vision for the world with the XO laptop and formally launch the National level initiative in India. (emphasis mine)

The following day OLPC’s Chief Learning Architect David Cavallo will hold a day-long Learning Workshop which is aimed at

Teachers, trainers and content creators, persons nominated from current projects and planned deployments.

Now I don’t know about you but to me this dell Latitude D600 Series battery sounds like a traditional Big Bang for a larger-scale implementation project. With more than 350 million people under the age of 14 living in India the target audience is potentially very large indeed. (Just for comparison’s sake: Uruguay’s population in that age group is about 800,000 while Peru’s is about 8,5 million.) Even if India were only able to achieve One Laptop per every 100th child this would still mean a 3,5 million units deployment.

It remains to be seen what happens over the coming weeks and months but the sheer number potentially involved in an OLPC deployment in India is just mind-boggling and we’ll definitely keep a close eye on what’s going on there.

New Laptop

Agosto 1st, 2008 by blogemylive

Hehe… I’ve been scouting the past days for a laptop that laptop battery for ibm thinkpad 600 600x 02k7018 first, fit into the specs i wanted, second, something that was light and lastly, something that I could rally for and plead the amount of to my parents. Well, after the long search, I’ve settled for the HP Pavillion dv1012ap. I’m still testing it… though I have some comments about the graphics (good thing I’m not a hard core gamer) and the battery life… I’m mostly satisifed with the features I have tested. Hehe… funny asus BATTL8400 laptop battery thing today was that I forgot that the laptop didn’t have a floppy drive! My brother wanted to use the computer to type some docs and I only realized that there was no floppy drive when he came in with a diskette. Good thing I haven’t been using diskettes (and instead using those flash disks) in a year’s time or so…

I asked my parents for a laptop so that I could work on my thesis anytime, anywhere… but bad thing is that I left all my installers in Davao (I’m currently in Manila)… so all I’m doing for the moment asus BATTL8400 battery are researching and reading our documents… no actual coding! Well, when I come back to Davao, we will have around 5 weeks or so to implement everything and I’m hoping that that time would be sufficient for our thesis implementation… i’m getting nervous.

Pain

Julio 30th, 2008 by blogemylive

Those are very true words. Is that what life is about… pain? I believe so. Pain is how we humans learn what we should do and that which we should not. When you were just a toddler you would wander around your little world constantly discovering what you shouldn’t do by encountering pain. Through the basics of logic one can learn a lot about what you should do by what you shouldn’t. So we grow up that way. Oh that hurts, don’t do that.

I think you enter into adulthood when you can overpower your diversion laptop battery for TOSHIBA PA3349U-1BAS R150 Series to pain and eventually say, wow that hurts but i’m going to do it anyway. They say that recovering from pain creates wisdom. It makes sense that the wisest men are those that have suffered the most in their time. A broken bone healed is stronger than before. Is it possible to eventually embrace your pain, maybe control it? I don’t mean when you squash your finger in the bathroom door either, which hurts like hell when you have solid oak doors as I do.

My greatest pain in life has always come from the decisions that I have been compaq hp PB992A battery forced to make. For some sick reason God has reached down, picked me up, and set me right in the most inconvenient of places, forks in the road. Although, decisions are only hard for those that have something to lose. When you’re at the bottom you don’t have far to fall. It’s when you’re doing well, when you’re reaching for the sky, that every step becomes perilous and impossibly consequential.

Three times now I’ve had to make a decision from the tree compaq hp PB992A laptop battery tops while looking down defensively. Will I fall? What will happen if I fall? How much will it hurt and how worth it will it be if I don’t? That’s the one question above all else. Is it worth the risk? No one knows. I don’t think even God knows, I think even he is as surprised by us from time to time as we are. Free-will sees to that. Isn’t that a sickening feeling though? Think of the possible lives you could be leading if only you had went right instead of left. It’s not easy and it’s not getting easier.

These choices I’ve made have sent me spiraling away from familiarity; away from school, friends, family, and the most devastating, love. I’ve done some difficult things in my life, absolutely nothing has come close to love. Everyone loves their families, most their friends, it’s real love that i’m talking about. When you can walk away from someone who is holding your compaq hp PB992A battery bleeding heart in their hands, you can truely do anything. But one thing you will never be able to stop, is asking yourself why.

I think that many adults are not adults at all. I don’t think many people have it in them to sacrifice the world to make it better. Sometimes this must be done. Sometimes a destructive fire is the only path to compaq hp PB992A battery creation. Every time you tear yourself down you have the unique chance to build yourself back up better than before. Can you do it? Could you do it for someone else? Someone you love? Be careful if you say yes, it can destroy you. But if you make it through, the world is yours.
